Discover the difference it would make if we no longer had to live life through the lens of our experiences of trauma

Hosted by SWEET Institute

Join us for this groundbreaking Full Day Workshop

Learn and Earn 6 CE credits if you are a Psychologist, LMHC, LCSW, LMSW, or CASAC licensed in New York!

We live in a world and are trained to see our patients and clients based on what’s wrong and what needs to be fixed. We help our patients and clients manage their symptoms so they can lead healthy and productive lives. We support them to learn to be survivors and conquerors and help them to create an identity out of their trauma experiences.

We can only see our patients and clients based on the degree to which we believe they can heal, and for many of us, we have been unable to see our clients beyond their trauma. We see their experiences of trauma as part of who they are. How then will our clients ever get to live their lives free of their past? What would their lives look like if their experiences of trauma were not integrated into their current identity? If their experiences of trauma was not the thing that gave them courage and strength? What if they could live a life of power and freedom, and it did not have to be through the lens of their experiences of trauma? What if we could?

Please join us and look at our patients and clients who have had traumatic experiences in a new and truly empowering way:

  1. Learn what trauma is a function of, and the different trauma identities that foster suffering states of awareness
  2. Learn about the impact of sharing trauma with our clients and the function of vicarious trauma in our own work
  3. Learn the Principles, Techniques, Steps, and Do’s and Don’ts of the Socratic Motivational Practice to engage clients in an exploration of the impact their trauma stories have on their sense of self, others, and the world
  4. Increase your own awareness as a clinician as to how you view your clients and the impact that has on growth and recovery

During this Full Day Workshop, we will guide you through an experiential learning process where you will be learning what it takes to help your clients, and how to implement that in daily practice.
