Introduction

Implicit biases, stereotypes, microaggressions, prejudices, cognitive biases, stigma, discrimination – so many terms used indiscriminately, yet with a profound impact on our patients and clients, on how we practice, and on us as clinicians. How do we use these terms in a clinically relevant way for the sake of our clients, and to enhance our practice and level of awareness? With so much information available on this topic, there is more confusion. It is time for us to look at what is relevant and how to bring it to our practice in the most practical way possible.

Join us and set yourself a part as a clinician through this online seminar.

What you’ll learn

At the end of this online seminar, you will have:

  • Learned the impact that implicit bias may have on our patients and clients.
  • Learned the Principles, Techniques, Steps, and Do’s and Don’ts of the Socratic Motivational Practice to work with our patients and clients around implicit bias and ethics in clinical care.
  • Increased your tools of talking with patients and clients, by identifying at least one thing you will start doing differently at the end of the seminar, as a result of the Socratic Motivational Practice framework
