Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an action-oriented approach to psychotherapy. It derives from traditional behavior therapy and CBT. CBT, in turn, is a short-term form of psychotherapy. It is based on the idea that the way we think and feel affects the way we behave. Come and enhance the difference you can make by learning more about these two clinical interventions.

What will you learn from this workshop on Suicide Intervention Skills?

  1. How you can use ACT to help your clients learn how to stop avoiding, denying, or struggling with their inner emotions
  2. How to effectively use ACT to help your patients accept their deepest feelings and use them in a promotive way
  3. How to effectively use ACT to help your clients gain insight and understand how to embrace their daily challenges and then commit to making necessary changes
  4. Identify the clinical indications for ACT and master how to implement ACT accordingly
  5. Master the six core processes of ACT
  6. Help your patients master the concept of Committed Action
  7. How to effectively use CBT to help patients change their responses to difficult situations, solve present-day challenges and enhance their quality of life

During this 2-hour seminar, we will guide you through an experiential learning process where you will be learning what it takes to help your clients, and how to implement that in daily practice.
